Conversations from the Change Table

Well, another month has come and gone! It has been a really good couple of weeks. Skye is delighting us with her use of the infant language. Her favorite words are "guh," "hoo," and "pffft." She had her first ever giggle about 10 days ago, and we have been desperately trying to get her to repeat it to no avail. Skye has settled down and is happy and alert during the day and sleeps for 11-12 hours straight through the night. How did I get this lucky? She's just 3 months old now, and seems keen to start solid foods soon. I'm going to try to hold out until she's 4 months old, but she stares at us with envy every time we eat dinner in front of her. Her guts need to catch up with her salivary glands first.

Lachlan is doing really well in his new job. He's working hard, and I think the boss appreciates his efforts. It's wonderful to see him in the evenings and on the weekends again. I've started rehearsals for "The Marriage of Figaro" and Lachlan steps in with dad duties so I can leave the house without panicking (much). It's nice to get out and pretend to be a normal person again, if just for a couple of hours. And to play Mozart amongst friends is icing on the cake.

Chelsea is doing well, nearing the end of the 2nd term of school. The girl never gets tired. She is always thinking of new art projects to create. Either that or she wants to watch DVDs or make desserts. It's a challenge looking after her and Skye simultaneously, but we get by. Jackie is officially neglected, poor thing. It's been just slightly too cold or rainy to take her for walks with Skye in the pram. Eventually I will make more of an effort to take her out for a stroll. We both need the exercise.

Here are some photos from the past month. She's every bit as cuddly and kissable as she looks! (Pardon the bragging...)
