The Big One!

I'm almost a month late in posting this, but I'll blame it on my slow internet connection.  Skye had a wonderful 1st birthday with her Aussie family at the Royal Botanical Gardens.  Those in attendance: Skye, Bernadette, Lachlan, Chelsea, Granny Heather and Bill, Great Granny Annie, Popsie and Yolanda, Auntie Olivia and Family, and friends Mannie and Hannah.  Skye enjoyed some banana bread and fruit salad for lunch followed by chocolate birthday cake with sprinkles and smarties on top.

Some other updates...Skye started walking around St. Patrick's Day (just 3 days before her birthday) and now she doesn't crawl much anymore.  She likes to walk up to mama and embrace her around the legs when she wants to be picked up.  She loves the Wiggles and often bounces to their songs.  Skye likes to get into the cupboards and take things out and walk around the house with that item (favorites are the bucket of clothes pins, DVDs, coffee containers).  She's eating pretty much everything we eat now, so meals are much easier.  She drinks regular milk, and sleeps from about 8:00pm until 9:00am (or later!).  I must be the luckiest mum in the world!

We're back in the Hawthorn house, and it's good to be back here.  Lachlan works just around the corner, about 7 minutes walk each way.  Chelsea will be going to a new school on Monday, Glenferrie Primary School.  It looks like it will be a great place for her.  Her classroom has an interactive whiteboard (which I don't know much about, but it's very high-tech).  I now live a lot closer to my friends from the Melbourne Opera and I hope to get my duo off the ground soon.  That's about it for now.  Enjoy the photos!
