A Bit of Summer in Winter
Chelsea, Skye and I recently returned to Australia from our 4-week trip to the States. We all had a great time visiting family and friends. I didn't get as many photos as I should have, but I have included quite a few here.
Chelsea spent most of the trip visiting her mother in Kenosha. Skye and I stayed at Granny Jo's house in Racine, Amy's house in Milwaukee, Sho-Mei & Dwight's house in Dallas, Yvonne's house in Dallas, and back to Granny Jo's again. Skye doesn't sleep very well away from "home," but she still enjoyed spending time with everyone. She was a bit shy towards new people at first, but quickly entertained us all with her skills.
There were many highlights: Skye's 1st trip to the Zoo, watching the Dallas Symphony rehearse, El Fenix, Bar None and the after-party, Yvonne's patio party, coffees with Gayle, Daniel's (Amy's son) 1st birthday party, the fountain park with Nicole and Gia, breakfasts with Grandpa Dave, day at the park with old high school girlfriends and their kids, Dueling Pianos at Buona Vita, Rhubarb Kringle and Deep Dish Infusino's Pizza, reuniting with my very first childhood friend Laura and meeting her boys, Skye's 1st Haircut, cookout at Granny Jo's, The Chartroom, and Skye's play-date at Sarah's.
Thanks to everyone who took time out of their busy lives to spend time with us! It was a lovely trip, but we're all glad to be back in Australia in our own beds. And I don't want to get near an airplane for a very long time...
Still jet-lagged...
